20 Ways to Rock Fall Highlights for Brown Hair, According to Hairstylists

Highlights are loved for their ancient benefits. Without highlights, hair can look flat and dull; with them, it can seem more shiny and more voluminous, not to mention the overall lushness. Although highlights look great on all hair colors, they’re especially popular when paired with brunette manes—especially for fall.

“Highlights can enhance brown hair for fall in several ways,” says R + Co Collective member Richy Kandasamy. “Warm tones like caramel, honey or hints of gold can create a sweet, autumnal look that complements the colors of the season and enhances your skin tone for a cool fall transition.”

But that’s not all. Kandasamy says highlights can make brown hair look “fuller and more defined,” too. Convinced your brunette mane needs a little bit of highlights? First, check out the best fall tips for brown hair.

The hair looks season-appropriate, but still looks fresh.”
